Ikat Cushion Red/Blue/Cream
Weaving of ikat was very popular in Russia during the czar’s reign. Its centre was in central Asia along the Silk Road, and the trend has been resurrected since the end of the Soviet Union. There are numerous patterns, a real design treasure-this particular one is red/blue/cream-coloured and resembles a mineralogical cross section. Every person probably sees something different in the pattern. The backside is kept in lightly coloured cotton; the inside is made from duck feathers.
